Loral Langemeier Millionaire Maker Describes the Power of Being Inquisitive

One of the things we encourage in the Loral Langemeier Millionaire Maker program is asking questions. We’ve grown up in a society that tells as opposed to asks. We’ve been conditioned to either tell people what to do or be told what to do. This type of interaction prevents the person listening to be strategically involved in the action or decision making process.

In business, many managers tell their staff what to do and act as if that is leadership. We see this many times in the Loral Langemeier coaching sessions, and nothing could be further from the truth. The problem with this type of “leadership” is that there’s still no inspired action. The employee was told what to do and didn’t have any commitment to action. In this scenario the “leader” is essentially pulling a locomotive down the tracks rather than giving fuel to the train and letting it propel itself.

As you will learn in the Loral Langemeier Millionaire Maker program, the power of questioning empowers the strategic side of the brain and causes the person to think, reason, and create. When asked open ended questions that begin with “what” and “how”, your brain is stimulated to come up with an answer.

If a manager tells a staff member what to do and it doesn’t work, the manager’s still responsible because it was the manager’s idea. However, if the leader is asking questions like, “These are the strategies we need to accomplish over the next 6 months, what will you do to contribute to these,” the team is compelled to self directed action, responsibility, and accountability. The Loral Langemeier coaching staff, along with the Loral Langemeier Millionaire Maker curriculum can help you to become a leader – not a manager.
